Its very helpful to track & record contractions... Our OB was impressed at the level of detail we were able to give, w/an accurate timeline and all. Its also intuitive & easy to use, even in the heat of the moment. Just remember, dads: read your wifes face & body language-- that will tell you all you need to know.
